Welcome to Rakkh Resort

Perched on a hilltop just outside the pretty village of Rakh and surrounded by terraced hillsides and the scintillating Dhauladhars in the distance – Rakkh Resort awaits you. Rakkh offers fifteen cottages and two interconnecting rooms with the perfect blend of authentic design using local materials and all the modern comforts one would expect of a boutique property. Rakkh features an in-house spa, our multi-cuisine restaurant offers stunning 180 Degree views of the surrounding hills and valleys, at our traditional village kitchen we host “dhaam” feasts on special occasions and our dedicated and passionate activities team who will organise guided mountain biking, hiking trails and climbing wall activities, slacklining as well as dedicated camp skills workshops for our younger guests.

More importantly, we invite you to indulge in a unique experience – one where the simple joys of personal interaction, reconnecting with nature and a passion for the great outdoors is given precedence over everything else. You will not find a television or mini-bar in you rooms. Communal dining is encouraged for guests to get to know each other. We offer nature hikes in the nearby hills and short walks through nearby villages, paddy fields, forests and tea gardens. We help you test your stamina and skills on our climbing wall. Explore and discover our slice of Unexplored Himachal.

The Three R's of Rakkh

At Rakkh we want to introduce you to our little corner of Unexplored Himachal – a world away from the overly commercialized tourist centres where traffic congestion, noise and pollution are the norm. Let us take you roaming through our little corner of mountain heaven – wander through sleepy hamlets, cycle past electric green paddy fields, and undulating emerald tea gardens all the while the mighty Dhauladhar Mountains keep their vigil in the distance. Watch the immaculately dressed school children attended their classes al fresco, and sip a cup of chai with friendly villagers. Let us take you on journeys to the ancient rock cut temples at Masroor and the awe inspiring fort at Kangra. Immerse yourselves in Tibetan culture at McLeod Ganj and Dharamsala, and try your hand at creating a piece of art at Andretta Pottery and a tea tasting with a difference, with an enthusiastic young entrepreneur who has returned to Himachal to resurrect his ancestral tea estate . There’s a whole new side to Himachal waiting to be explored.

Take the opportunity to really unwind during your stay at Rakkh – your days might be taken up by one of the many activities we offer and time spent in the great outdoors, communing with the natural world, leaving all our worries and stresses of everyday life is a perfect way to relax. Revel in the tranquility of mountain village life, switch off from the fast pace of modern life. Start the day with some deep breathing and gentle stretches during a yoga session as the sun rises from behind the Himalayan Ranges. Treat yourself to a rejuvenating spa treatment at Baanka. Sink into our sumptuous beds at the end of a day. We can guarantee that Rakkh will offer you that time needed to refresh and reinvigorate.

In this day and age we are increasingly disconnected from each other and from nature. Long working days, intense pressure to perform and deliver – it’s easy to lose perspective about what really matters – how simple it is to gain so much pleasure from spending time with our loved ones, our friends and family and how easy it is to take them for granted. So at Rakkh STOP! We encourage you to detach yourselves from your phones, to concentrate on your immediate surroundings. Chat, laugh, play, share tales, make new friendships – venture out and embrace nature – it’s amazing how nature grounds us, and brings things back into focus. Rakkh is about community – we hope that whilst you arrive as strangers you leave as life- long friends and extended members of the Rakkh Family.
